This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds.
Materials needed:
DK weight cotton yarn in yellow and brown colour.
3 mm crochet hook.
Yarn needle, stitch markers and scissors.
Abbreviations
R – round/ row.
Ch – chain.
St(s) – stitch(es).
Sc – single crochet.
Dc – double crochet
Trc – Triple/ treble crochet.
Inc – increase.
P – picot stitch (Ch 2, sl st in second chain from the hook).
Sl st – slip stitch.
[…] – repeat the instructions given in between the bracket.
(…) – total number of stitches.
Pattern Instructions:
Sunflower center:
Using brown yarn,
R1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6).
R2: Inc in each st (12).
R3: [ Sc, inc ] x 6 (18).
R4: [ Sc, inc, sc ] x 6 (24).
R5: [ Sc 3, inc ] x 6 (30).
R6: [ Sc 2, inc, sc 2 ] x 6 (36).
R7: [ Sc 5, inc ] x 6 (42).
R8: [ Sc 3, inc, sc 3 ] x 6 (48).
R9: Sc in each stitch (48).
Fasten off invisibly and weave in the ends.
Petals:
Join Yellow yarn to any one of the stitches in last row of the brown circle using a sl st and,
[ Ch 2, (dc, trc) in next st, (trc, p, trc) in next st, (trc,dc) in next st, ch 2, sl st in next st ] x 12.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
And your sunflower coaster is now ready!
