The new Lunar year began in January 22 and this year is the “year of rabbit”. Let us celebrate the new year with a cute and chubby bunny amigurumi! This is a quick and easy pattern, so you can make lots of these bunnies to give as gifts:)

Instructions:
This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise.
Materials needed:
- Chunky weight Chenille/velvet yarn in pink colour.
- Sport or DK weight yarn in green colour.
- 4 mm and 3 mm hook.
- 8 mm safety eyes.
- Fiberfill for stuffing.
- Tapestry needle.
- Small amount of black yarn for mouth.
Stitches/ Abbreviations
- R – round/ row.
- ch – chain.
- st(s) – stitch(es).
- sc – single crochet.
- inc – increase (2 sc in one st).
- dec – decrease (sc 2 st together).
- hdc – half double crochet.
- dc – double crochet
- bo – bobble stitch.
- sl st – slip stitch.
- […] – repeat the instructions given in between the brackets.
- (…) – total number of stitches.
BUNNY:
Using pink chenille yarn and 4 mm hook,
R1: 7 sc in a magic ring (7).
R2: Inc x 7 (14).
R3: [ Sc, inc ] x 7 (21).
R4: [ Sc 2, inc ] x 7 (28).
R5: Sc in each st (28).
R6: [ Sc 6, inc ] x 4 (32).
R7: Sc in each st (32).
R8: Sc 10, bo, sc 9, bo, sc 11 (32).
R9: Sc in each st (32).
R10: [ Sc 7, inc ] x 4 (36).
R11: Sc in each st (36).
Insert 8 mm safety eyes between R7 and R8, with 6 stitches in between them.
R12: [ Sc 4, dec ] x 2, sc 2, bo, sc, dec, sc 2, bo, sc, dec, [sc 4, dec] x 2 (30).
R13: [ Sc 3, dec ] x 6 (24).
Stuff firmly with fiberfill and continue to stuff until the end.
R14: Dec x 12 (12).
R15: Dec x 6 (6).
Fasten off and leave a long tail. Weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches. Pull tight to close the hole and weave in the tail.
Embroider a smile using black yarn.
Ears (make 2):
Using pink chenille yarn and 4 mm hook, Ch 6.
Starting from second chain on hook, sl st 2, sc, hdc, 5 dc in the last ch. Continue to work on other side of the chain and hdc, sc, sl st 2 (13).
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the Ears to the top of Bunny’s head.
Bow:
Using green sport weight yarn and 3 mm hook, Ch 23.
Starting from second chain on hook, [ hdc, dc 8, sc, sl st 2, sc, dc 8, hdc, Ch 1 ]. Don’t turn, continue to work on other side of the base chain and repeat the above instructions given between […]. Slip stitch to the first hdc.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Bring both the ends together and sew them using tapestry needle.
Wrap the centre 3 or 4 times using the remaining yarn tail and tie a knot at the back.
Finally sew the bow to the bunny just below the ears.
And your chubby little bunny is now done!
