Happy November everyone! I’m up with another fall pattern. Don’t you think furry fox give off cozy autumn vibes? Amigurumi fox has been on my list of things to do for a long time and I’m happy I was able to make it for autumn. Let’s learn how to make this cute little amigurumi fox in this post.

Instructions:
This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise.
Materials needed:
- DK weight cotton yarn in orange, cream and any yarn colour of your choice for scarf.
- 3 mm crochet hook.
- Fiber fill for stuffing.
- Tapestry needle.
- Black and pink embroidery thread.
- Sewing pins.
- Small button.
Stitches/ Abbreviations
- R – round/ row.
- Ch – chain.
- St(s) – stitch (es).
- Sc – single crochet.
- Inc – increase (2sc in one st).
- Hdc – half double crochet.
- Dec – decrease (sc 2 st together).
- Sl st – slip stitch.
- [..] – repeat the instructions given in between the brackets
Head:
With orange colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6).
R2: Inc in each st (12).
R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 6 (18).
R4: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 6 (24).
R5: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 6 (30).
R6: [ Sc in next 4 st, inc ] x 6 (36).
R7-8: Sc in each st (36).
We’ll start switching between orange and cream colour yarn from R9-R11.
I have used MC to denote orange and CC to denote cream colour.
R9: Sc in next 16 st (CC), sc in next 5 st (MC), Sc in next 15 st (CC) (36).
R10: Sc in next 17 st (CC), sc in next 3 st (MC), sc in next 16 st (CC) (36).
R11: Sc in next 18 st (CC), sc in next st (MC), sc in next 17 st (CC) (36).
We’ll continue to work with cream colour yarn only from R12 onwards.
R12: [ Sc in next 5 st, inc ] x 6 (42).
R13-14: Sc in each st (42).
R15: [ Sc in next 4 st, dec ] x7 (35).
R16: [ Sc in next 3 st, dec ] x 7 (28).
R17: [ Sc in next 2 st, dec ] x 7 (21).
R18: [ Sc in next st, dec ] x 7 (14).
Stuff firmly.
R19: Dec x 7 (7).
Sew the ends closed using tapestry needle and fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Ears (make 2):
With orange colour yarn,
R1: 4 sc in magic ring (4).
R2: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 2 (6).
R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 3 (9).
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Arms (make 2):
With orange colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: [ sc next 2 st, inc ] x 2 (8).
R3-R7: Sc in each st (8).
Stuff the arms lightly and sc through both the top layers to close.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Legs (make 2):
With orange colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 3 (9).
R3-4: Sc in each st (9).
Fasten off the first leg but don’t cut off the yarn in second one. Stuff the legs and continue to body part.
Body:
R5: With the second leg, chain 2 and join to the first leg and sc around the first leg (9 sts), sc in the 2 chains (2 sts), sc around the second leg (9 sts) and sc in the other side of 2 chains (2 sts). [22 sts in total].
R6: [ Sc in next 9 st, inc, inc ] x 2 (26)
R7-11: Sc in each st (26).
R12: [ sc in next 11 st, dec ] x 2 (24).
R13: Sc in each st (24).
R14: [ dec, sc in next 4 st ] x 4 (20).
R15: Sc in each st (20).
R16: [ Sc in next 3 st, dec ] x4 (16).
Stuff the body firmly and fasten off.
Belly patch:
With cream colour yarn,
R1: ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 st, 3 sc in last st.
Continuing to work on other side of the chain, sc in next 2 st, inc in last (10).
R2: Inc in first st, sc in next 2 st, inc in next 3 st, sc in next 2 st, inc in next 2 st (16).
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Tail:
Start with cream colour yarn
R1: 4 sc in magic ring (4).
R2: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 2 (6).
R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 3 (9).
Switch to orange colour yarn,
R4: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 3 (12).
R5: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 3 (15).
R6: Sc in each st (15).
R7: [ Sc in next 3 st, dec ] x 3 (12).
R8: Sc in each st (12).
R9: [ Sc in next 2 st, dec ] x 3 (9).
R10-12: Sc in each st (9).
Stuff the tail and sc through both the top layer to close.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Scarf:
Using yarn colour of your choice,
R1: Ch 40, hdc in third chain from hook and onto the remaining chains (38).
Chain 5 and slip stitch on to the last stitch to form a loop. Increase or decrease the number of chains according to the size of the button you’re going to use.
On the other end of the scarf, sew a button 4 or 5 stitches away from the last stitch.
Assembling:
- Embroider a small triangle for nose at R12. Then make a small inverted v shape just below the triangle.
- Embroider sleepy eyes 2 stitches away from the nose on either sides.
- Sew the ears at R5-R7 from the top of the head.
- Use cream colour yarn to embroider small spots on the head.
- Add little blush using pink embroidery thread.
- Sew the head to the body.
- Sew the arms where the head meets the body.
- Attach the belly patch to the body.
- Attach the tail slantingly between R8-10 at the back of the body.
Finally wrap the scarf around the neck and your little amigurumi fox is now done!
