Of all the amigurumi patterns I made, Cats are the ones I enjoy designing the most. So here comes another cat pattern of mine. I loved combining two favorites of mine – cat and plants to make a Amigurumi Cattus (a Cactus Cat) pattern. Hope you too will love making this.

Instructions:
This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise.
MAterials needed:
- Medium worsted weight yarn in green, white, light green, yellow and pink.
- 5 mm crochet hook.
- 8 mm safety eyes.
- Polyester fiberfill for stuffing.
- Black embroidery thread and needle.
- Tapestry needle, stitch marker, scissors.
Stitches/ Abbreviations:
- R – round/ row.
- ch – chain.
- st(s) – stitch(es).
- sc – single crochet.
- dc – double crochet.
- bo – bobble stitch.
- inc – increase (2sc in one st).
- dec – decrease (sc 2 st together).
- sl st – slip stitch.
- […] – repeat the instructions given in between the bracket.
- (…) – total number of stitches.
Pattern Instructions:
Head and Body:
Using green yarn,
R1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6).
R2: [ Inc ] x 6 (12).
R3: [ Sc, inc ] x 6 (18).
R4: [ Sc, inc, sc ] x 6 (24).
R5: [ Sc 3, inc ] x 6 (30).
R6: Sc in each st (30).
R7: [ Sc 2, inc, sc 2 ] x 6 (36).
R8: Sc 14, bo, sc 6, bo, sc 14 (36).
R9-16: Sc in each st (36) – 8 rounds.
Insert 8mm safety eyes between R3 and R4, a little below the centre.
Embroider a inverted V shape for the mouth and add in whiskers using black thread.
R17: Sc 16, bo, sc 6, bo, sc 12 (36).
R18: Sc in each st (36).
R19: [ Sc 2, dec, sc 2 ] x 6 (30).
R20: [ Sc 3, dec ] x 6 (24).
R21: [ Sc, dec, sc ] x 6 (18).
R22: [ Sc, dec ] x 6 (12).
Stuff firmly using fiber fill.
R23: Dec x 6 (6).
Fasten off and leave a long tail. Weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches. Pull tight to close the hole and weave in the yarn tail.
Ears (Make 2):
Using green yarn,
R1: 4 sc in magic ring (4).
R2: [ Sc, inc ] x 2 (6).
R3: [ Sc, inc ] x 3 (9).
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Tail:
Start with green colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2-3: Sc in each st (6).
R4-5: (Light green) Sc in each st (6).
R6-7: (Green) Sc in each st (6).
R8-9: (Light green) Sc in each st (6).
R10: (Green) Sc in each st (6)
Sc through both the top layers to close.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Flower:
Using yellow yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: Inc x 6 (12).
Fasten off invisibly.
Join pink yarn into any of the stitch on R2 and
[ (sl st, ch 2, dc) in first st, (dc, ch2, sl st) in next ] x 6.
Finally sl st to the first st and fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembling:
- Sew on the ears between R6 and R7 on both sides of the body.
- Attach the tail at the back.
- Using white yarn, embroider dotted lines on the forehead and around the sides of the body.
- Finally sew the flower on to the side of the body
